Recently I am trying to use blogs to promote my business websites, most of the blogs I am working on are wordpress based, as far as we know that wordpress is wonderful for automated posting, managing and much more, with the fact that its licensed under GPL make the WordPress the most popular weblog platform on the Internet.

Lately I figured that I should build my own blogs and promote them, afterwards I can use the already built blogs to promote whatever I want, of course this is not a new idea, all kinds of blog networks are out there for the exact purpose, anyway those are other people’s asset and I have no control, not to mention I can’t just post to them, probably I will have to pay quite dearly to have my sites promoted.

If you have tried to maintain a few different blogs you will know its not easy, if you don’t like garbage on your blogs, to put real content on your site won’t be an easy job, you have to put in time and money to build a successful blog. Check out a couple of interesting blogs, look at this one, Logo Mug, it’s name is pretty cute, and there are a lot of interesting articles on it, without a clear theme, you’ll find all kinds of different posts there. Check this one out, Heavy Duty Chains, this is a themed blog, all topics are about same theme, quite a few keywords rank well for this site. I can show you a lot more sites, but you should already see the point. Here is one last note, you should build some casual blogs, let them get some content occasionally, just like this blog, About Ratchet Strap, your blogging network looks more natural with these casual blogs.

If you have a few established blogs already, you can try to build a few more, use the old ones to promote the new ones, this is the way to build your own blogging network. It sounds pretty simple, but it won’t be easy to build even a tiny blogging network, there’s one thing you do have to remember is that don’t ruin your hard work just because you want to cut a few corners.
